DOYEON KIM

Born in South Korea, raised in Bali and now living in London, I am a visual communicator exploring identity and the mundane of everyday life. My work is greatly influenced by emotions and insights gathered from navigating three distinct cultures, inspiring me to highlight underrepresented stories through visual storytelling.

My creative process thrives on hands-on experimentation, bringing ideas to life across various mediums and collaborative endeavours.
By blending multicultural influences with a strong narrative focus, I strive to create visually engaging designs that resonate on both personal and collective narratives.

Yoga and pottery are my go-to practices in my free time, and I’m always open to a matcha chat — whether it’s about opportunities, commissions, or simply sharing ideas with like-minded creatives!

I Wish Things Were More Clear

A two-sectioned photo zine that explores the haptic creation of memories by staging a visual dialogue between chance and fate.

The first section: I wish things were more clear contains images taken by Kim Doyeon that are accidentally taken and are usually erased. The second section: Are things clear? includes screenshots of her parents’ wedding and honeymoon video in 1995
