DOYEON KIM

Born in South Korea, raised in Bali and now living in London, I am a visual communicator exploring identity and the mundane of everyday life. My work is greatly influenced by emotions and insights gathered from navigating three distinct cultures, inspiring me to highlight underrepresented stories through visual storytelling.

My creative process thrives on hands-on experimentation, bringing ideas to life across various mediums and collaborative endeavours.
By blending multicultural influences with a strong narrative focus, I strive to create visually engaging designs that resonate on both personal and collective narratives.

Yoga and pottery are my go-to practices in my free time, and I’m always open to a matcha chat — whether it’s about opportunities, commissions, or simply sharing ideas with like-minded creatives!

Soft Pleasure

Soft Pleasure consists of a publication, poster and workshop. It explores femininity and sexual fantasies through an essay, interviews and introducing artists who create with the theme of sexist oppression, desire, erotism and sexual fantasies: challenging the viewers to re-think stereotypes about gender politics, sex, and the body. Soft Pleasure raises questions on sexual fantasies and the workshop invites the audience to think and share about their intimate sexual fantasies through an interactive installation.
