DOYEON KIM

Born in South Korea, raised in Bali and now living in London, I am a visual communicator exploring identity and the mundane of everyday life. My work is greatly influenced by emotions and insights gathered from navigating three distinct cultures, inspiring me to highlight underrepresented stories through visual storytelling.

My creative process thrives on hands-on experimentation, bringing ideas to life across various mediums and collaborative endeavours.
By blending multicultural influences with a strong narrative focus, I strive to create visually engaging designs that resonate on both personal and collective narratives.

Yoga and pottery are my go-to practices in my free time, and I’m always open to a matcha chat — whether it’s about opportunities, commissions, or simply sharing ideas with like-minded creatives!

After moving to London during pandemic, I collected bits and bobs that caught my eyes for the six months. From artworks in the gallery to random gems captured on the street, I collected over 65 different kinds of things.

Throughout this journey of collecting—and while navigating the mixed feelings of missing my dog back home—I became curious about how my dog sees the world and wanted to share this collection with him. I aimed to create an experience that allowed me to see through the eyes of a dog. Eighteen selected interests are curated for the publication and printed in only colours that a dog can see (Blue, Yellow and Black).
