Sa-ee is a photographic work derived from a sense of being in between. It captures the feeling of being a stranger, an outsider, not entirely foreign but never fully at home. Even in my mother city, I often feel out of place, navigating spaces where I don’t completely belong. Travelling to a new city, in contrast, offers comfort in the unfamiliar, where being a stranger feels natural.

The sea of my childhood was vivid, endless, and blue. I arrived in Brighton carrying it with me, and a subtle homesickness. These images hold a day by the water—fleeting moments, soft light, and the strange familiarity of a place both new and known. Exhibited in the group show <Flashback> at BINCAN, 2023.

In this project, I am focusing on the idea of a connection between humans and tools. How the tools we create, make an impact on what we create–like a never-ending cycle.

Wandering through new places, I collect pieces of the world—ephemeral visuals, remnants of moments, pieces of stories left behind. Collecting has always felt natural, a quiet way of holding onto what slips away. I turn these scraps into collage, not just as creation, but as a way of journaling—tracing memories through paper, ink, and time. This series, beginning at the end of 2024, is made from the remnants of my travels—newspapers, pamphlets, receipts, posters, recycled scraps, tickets—each carrying the mark of where I’ve been, each a story retold.
